Happy 6 months old to this darling boy!

Yup, it's quite unbelievable that it's been half a year since this baby came into the world. Every day, I count my blessings for having him in my life and how he has made everything better and happier for all of us.

He has started eating apple, potato and carrot purée and is curious about anything that goes into his mouth. He drools all the time and likes to chomp on everything he sees, including my shirt, his fingers, toys and cutlery.

He sleeps besides me and wakes up a few times every night, looking for Mama and needing his milk before he dozes off again. After over four months, he finally learnt how to side latch which makes my nights easier and I love the way we sleep so close to each other.

Many people mistake him for a girl because of his thick mop of hair and I've already cut it thrice because it gets long so fast. He also has cute dimples on his round and chubby face which makes me wanna kiss him a thousand times a day.

He is starting to experience separation anxiety and at times only wants Mama and no one else to carry him. It's funny how a glimpse of me or just the sound of my voice can trigger a big reaction in him, and while this phase of being needed 24/7 is tiring, I cherish it so, so much.

A couple of nights ago, the big girl came up to me and said "Thank you for giving birth to Ansel and bringing him into our lives", the sister said "He is the cutest baby in the world" while the brother said "We are so lucky to have a boy cos' I have a Didi now." Awww. It's plain to see how much they adore this baby and how deeply he is loved each day.

Thank you for brightening up our days with your contagious smile and hearty laughter. Thank you for being you. We love you so, so much, dear Ansel! ❤

Take As Much As you Want

“He said, “Take the arrows”; and he took them. He said to the king of Israel, “Strike the ground”; and he struck three times, and stopped. The man of God was angry with him, and said, “You should have struck five or six times. Then you would have struck Syria until you had consumed it; whereas now you will strike Syria just three times.”” (2 Kings‬ ‭13:18-19‬ ‭WEB‬)

When God releases an indefinite rhema word for you, such as, “Take the arrows…strike the ground,” it means that you are free to receive as much as you want to from that word of enablement.

That prophetic word did not come with a specific instruction of how many times to strike the ground.

In such cases, always do much as you can.

It is like having a door of a treasure vault open and God telling you to take as much as you want.

The more you act on the word, the larger in measure you will receive from it.

Other examples from the Bible: after the prophet’s word, the widow who poured the oil kept pouring into more vessels until there was no more containers left. Once the words “There aren’t any more vessels” was said, the oil stopped multiplying.

Also, when Jesus multiplied the bread and fishes, the multiplication miracle stopped when the people were satisfied.

The question is, when it comes to the things of God, when will you say, “Okay, that’s enough for me.”

Last year, God released a rhema word for my patrons and I, and it was “Younger and younger”. It was a Bible study series about youth renewal, and this rhema word carries God’s power to renew the youth of whoever believes and confesses the declarations within.

英語で「久しぶり」を適切に表現しよう

日本語の「久しぶり」は、色々な場面で使える便利な表現ですが、日本語とは違って英語では状況によって使われるフレーズが異なります。「Long time, no see」=「久しぶり」と覚えている方が多いようですが、この表現は本当に長い間会っていない人にしか使わず、日常会話ではそこまで頻繁に使われないので気をつけましょう！

1）It's been a while(a long time)
→「久しぶり」

日本語の「久しぶり！」の一言に最も近い表現で、ネイティブの日常会話でもよく使われるフレーズです。WhileをLong timeに置き換えても意味は全く同じです。
　
✔他にも「It's been ages」も同じ意味として使われる。Agesは「長い間」を意味し、Whileやlong timeよりも「久しぶり」を強調したニュアンスがある。
　
＜例文＞
　
Hey, how have you been? It's been a while.
（久しぶり。元気にしてる？）
　
It's been a long time. What have you been up to?
（久しぶりだね。最近どうしているの？）
　
Wow! Good to see you Mike. It's been ages!
（わぁ〜マイク、本当に久しぶりだね！会えて嬉しいよ。）

具体的に何が久しぶりなのかを言いたい場合は、上記の表現の後にSinceを付け足し、その後に文章を続けて表現します。

（バスケをするのは久しぶりです。）
　
It's been ages since I ate this.

このフレーズを直訳すると「〜の期間内で一番最初」となり、どの程度ひさしぶりなのか具体的な期間を示す場合に使われます。
　
✔inの後は数字だけに限らず「a few _____」や「many _____」のような表現も可能。「For the first time in a few days」→「数日ぶり」
　
＜例文＞
　
I'm going to Hawaii for the first time in 1 year.
（1年ぶりにハワイへ行きます。）
　
I worked out for the first time in 6 months.
（半年ぶりに運動をしました。）
　
He's going back home for the first time in a few years.

日本人の間では鉄板となっているこの表現は、本当に長い間会っていなかったり話していなかった場合に使われる表現です。気楽な感じで「久しぶりっ！」と言いたい場合は「It’s been a while(long time)」と表現する方がナチュラルです。
　
✔電話やメールの場合は「Long time, no talk」、直接会う場合は「Long time, no see」。
　
✔会話では略して「Long time」とも言う。
　
＜例文＞
　
Long time, no see man. How's everything?
